Over a year without cranberries, without broad beans, without cottage cheese (they way it should be), without Polish bread and it´s crunchy crust. Without chicken soup like at grandma´s, without scrambled eggs with spring onions, without licking the pot clean after chocolate sauce of which mum always used to leave a little more than necessary. There is no cheesecake or pancakes; there are no pretzels or oscypek. Not to mention herring with onion!
It´s surprising how specific a flavor homesickness has and how it tastes more before Christmas.
