THOUGHTS FOR NEW YEAR: QUADRUPLIFICATION AND MY FRIDAY SYNDROME

I quadrupled my mind.
First of all, I work in a language which I love, which I keep struggling with every step of the way and which I will never learn perfectly, no matter how long I sail it.
Second of all, I’m surrounded by a language of passion, swearwords and loudness, a language which you speak faster than you think.
Third of all, I’m fighting to save a language that I learned by accident, a language that is not on my way right now, but one that I fell in love with at first sight and I miss every day.
And fourth of all, there is a language stuck in me, the only one, the one I return to like I return home, the one that reminds me of itself every now and again, sending tiredness over me. And this is my Friday syndrome – when my mind rebels and doesn’t want any other language apart from the unique and patient one. And the only one I can write in.

Wanted: a hat with four pockets.
